What is the difference between a Dietitian and a nutritionist?
The term dietitian is protected by law for health professionals who have a Bachelor’s degree specializing in foods and nutrition, and are members of a provincially regulated body. A nutritionist is not protected by law and so people with different levels of training and knowledge can call themselves “nutritionist”.
